Krohn Receives Partnership for Progress Award at National Postal Forum

STAMFORD, Conn., March 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Robert Krohn, chairman and CEO of PSI Group Incorporated, a Pitney Bowes company, recently received the Partnership for Progress Award by Postmaster General Jack Potter at the National Postal Forum in Nashville Tennessee.

"A new type of partnership is emerging between the industry and the Postal Service," Potter said in his keynote remarks at the Forum. "Bob Krohn helped build that partnership and helped our industry grow stronger. He has worked hard to build his company into the largest and most successful presort company in America. He established a partnership with the Postal Service that spans the past 10 years -- a partnership that has served to strengthen worksharing programs that benefit the entire industry."

Krohn founded PSI in Omaha, Nebraska in 1995 to help businesses prepare high-volume letter mailings that meet or exceed Postal Service processing quality standards. PSI manages all aspects of the mail preparation process from generation and barcoding of a letter to the final sorting and containerizing. The mail is then presented to the Postal Service for final delivery. PSI's services enable the mail to be delivered more quickly and efficiently, and businesses that presort earn discounts on postage costs.

With operations in nineteen states, PSI is the largest work-sharing partner of the United States Postal Service (USPS) employing nearly 3,000 people. PSI grew by 50% in 2004 presorting over 7.6 billion pieces of mail as compared to over 5.1 billion pieces of mail in 2003. The company also successfully completed three acquisitions, which added 9 more locations to the PSI National Network, increasing the total to 30 operating centers in the United States.

Calling Krohn "a true friend, a true partner, and a true leader in the industry," Postmaster General Potter also noted that their partnership has overcome many challenges -- from the uncertainties of a sluggish economy to acts of terrorism. Postmaster General Potter added, "We have stood shoulder to shoulder to meet the challenges of the past and lay the groundwork for a great future."
