Pitney Bowes Adds Browser-Based Online Postage Option to DeliverAbility(TM)
Exclusive Option Allows Users to Purchase and Print Postage From Their Desktop
STAMFORD, Conn., April 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI - News) today introduced a browser-based online postage option for its DeliverAbility(TM) enterprise package management software, which allows customers to purchase and print postage from their computer. This new and exclusive online postage option simplifies the process of calculating and paying for postage and accessing shipping services offered by the U.S. Postal Service (USPS).
"DeliverAbility(TM) users can now compare carrier rates and schedules for all major shippers and simply purchase postage online and print shipping labels from their computer, based on their shipping needs," said Johanna Boller, vice president product management at Pitney Bowes Distribution Solutions. "This technology expansion of Pitney Bowes' online postage solutions allows all desktop users access to cost savings offered by the USPS, especially for residential and Saturday deliveries."
Users can select USPS as a shipping option, pay for the postage at their desktop and print the shipping label on a laser printer, eliminating the extra step of attaching stamps or meter tape. The laser printed label is similar to what is already available for all other carriers. Both the sender and the receiver also can track the delivery status of the package online. The Pitney Bowes online postage option is available for USPS Express and Priority package services.
This new online postage solution also provides satellite offices and remote users without mail meters access to online postage for Express and Priority services. Since DeliverAbility(TM) software is a web-based, enterprise-wide, multi-carrier shipping system, all users can initiate, track and validate the delivery of documents and packages right from their desktop.
Additional information about online postage and the DeliverAbility(TM) system may be obtained by contacting Dave Willemin, director sales support at 1-800-888-6226.
