Pitney Bowes Announces Siebel Validation
SAN DIEGO, Calif., Oct 8, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI), the global leader in integrated mail and document management, today announced at Siebel User Week 2003 that the integration of its Customer Document Connector version 7 and Mail Channel Connector version 7 with Siebel eBusiness Applications version 7.5 has been successfully validated by Siebel Systems. Siebel Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: SEBL) is a leading provider of multichannel business applications software.
The relationship between Pitney Bowes and Siebel Systems connects mail and digital document delivery to Siebel Call Center and Marketing Automation applications to expand the effectiveness of the closed-loop customer relationship management process.
Pitney Bowes Customer Document Connector for Siebel Call Center 7 links document messaging technologies offered by Pitney Bowes, which include document composition, digital document delivery and electronic presentment, document production workflow, and mail tracking information to the call center. With this information, a call center agent can quickly answer a customer's concern over a late statement, check with mail tracking information, or more effectively explain a charge on a bill while looking at the exact image of the document that was mailed to the customer.
Pitney Bowes Mail Channel Connector for Siebel Marketing 7 allows users to create marketing campaigns faster and more cost-effectively. The integration provides the technology for billboarding variable data marketing messages directly onto statements and bills or for composing stand-alone direct mail pieces from within Siebel Marketing 7.
Siebel Systems provides organizations with a proven set of industry- specific best practices, CRM applications software, and business processes, enabling corporations to sell to, market to, and serve customers across multiple channels and lines of business.
With this validation, customers of Siebel Systems and Pitney Bowes can leverage customer bills and statements-the customer touchpoint used most often by businesses to connect with their customers-for more effective customer relationship management.
"The integration of the mail channel with Siebel eBusiness Applications allows users to improve the return on their CRM investments by optimizing business processes linked to the customer communication channel most often preferred by the consumer," said Bernard Gracy, VP of Professional Services for Pitney Bowes Document Messaging Technologies. "This partnership unites the channels through which businesses communicate with customers and solidifies the competitive advantage currently enjoyed by Siebel Systems' customers."
"The integration of Siebel eBusiness Applications with Pitney Bowes' Customer Document Connector and Mail Channel Connector delivers enterprise scope and cutting-edge technology," said Dave Peranich, Vice President and General Manager, Alliances, Siebel Systems. "This partnership is providing seamless solutions that allow companies to significantly increase the effectiveness of call center agents and enhance the impact of marketing campaigns while integrating dynamic marketing capabilities into the billing process."
Siebel Systems forms alliances with proven technology leaders to deliver tangible business benefits throughout the enterprise. By choosing Siebel eBusiness Applications and validated partner solutions, Siebel Systems' customers can pursue a best-of-class software acquisition strategy.
