Pitney Bowes Delivers Competitive Mailstream Technology to Low-Volume Mailers with New DI380 OfficeRight(R) and DI425 FastPac(R) Inserting Systems

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., May 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) has launched two new automated mail folding and inserting systems designed to help small and mid-size businesses increase productivity through enhanced automation, speed, accuracy and capacity. The new DI380 OfficeRight(R) and DI425 FastPac(R) Inserting Systems were unveiled today during MAILCOM's 26th Annual Conference and Exhibition in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

"The new Pitney Bowes DI380/DI425 Series Inserting Systems bring high- volume mailstream technology to low to mid-volume mailers, while maximizing cost-effectiveness and operational efficiencies," said Jeff Marshall, Vice President of Pitney Bowes Global Mailstream Solutions. "This introduction reinforces Pitney Bowes' commitment to meeting the growing mailstream management needs of organizations of all sizes."

These new inserters can be integrated with an optional power stacker and DM Series(TM) Mailing System models 500, 550 and 800i to deliver benefits including faster, uninterrupted processing of bills and statements, which can result in faster payment and better cash flow. The systems' Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) technology enables personalized pages to be combined with multi-page documents, creating more customized communications that can boost customer response to direct mail offers. Reply envelopes can also be integrated into mail pieces, which can maximize postage value and shorten payment cycles.

The new DI380 OfficeRight(R) Inserting System replaces Pitney Bowes' DI350 OfficeRight(R) Inserting System and DI425 FastPac(R) Inserting System takes the place of the DI400 FastPac(R) Inserting System. Improvements on the new DI380/DI425 Series Inserting Systems include increased sheet feeder capacity, better paper handling for thicker mail pieces, easy-to-use pre-programmable graphical interface, adjustable drop stackers, enhanced OMR features (now available with every DI380/DI425 Series Inserting Systems configuration) and optional mailing machine interface capabilities. In addition, Pitney Bowes has introduced an OptiFlow(TM) Power Stacker, which allows users to load and unload materials without interrupting a job.

The DI380/DI425 Series Inserting Systems are ideal for small to mid-size organizations that process billing statements and invoices, as well as direct mail pieces. The DI380 OfficeRight(R) Inserting System can process up to 3,000 mail pieces per hour, which is up to 18 times faster than manual handling, and the DI425 FastPac(R) Inserting System can process up to 3,500 mail pieces an hour. Both desktop systems can be integrated with other Pitney Bowes mailstream products to provide seamless end-to-end mailing solutions.
