Pitney Bowes Executive Officers File Certifications With The Securities and Exchange Commission

STAMFORD, Conn., Aug 14, 2002 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) announced that Michael J. Critelli, its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and Bruce P. Nolop, its Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, yesterday submitted certifications to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), affirming the accuracy of Pitney Bowes' Form 10-K report for 2001 and its financial reports filed with the SEC since then. These actions are in response to a June 27, 2002, order by the SEC requiring the CEO and CFO of approximately 950 companies to certify to the accuracy of their companies' financial reports.
