Pitney Bowes Named One of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens
- 2004 Marks Fifth Consecutive Year on List -
STAMFORD, Conn., May 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) announced today that it is included on Business Ethics magazine's list of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens for 2004. Now in its fifth year, the annual ranking identifies companies among the Russell 1000 -- the largest publicly traded companies -- that excel at serving a variety of stakeholders.
The ranking is based on quantitative measures of corporate service to seven stakeholder groups: stockholders, employees, customers, the community, the environment, overseas stakeholders, and women and minorities. Pitney Bowes is among 29 other companies that have made the list for all five years including Procter & Gamble, Hewlett-Packard, Avon Products, Ecolab, Herman Miller, Modine Manufacturing, Starbucks, Merck, Brady Corporation, and Sonoco.
