the World’s Most Ethical rankings for three years. The 2009 list will

accountability and integrity are ingrained in our culture—it’s the right
way to do business.”
Pitney Bowes incorporates ethics
and compliance into the day-to-day activities of all employees.
Employees are given annual training courses on ethical sales practices
and compliance while managers are rated in their annual performance
review on their ethical leadership. In addition, an anonymous Ethics

an ethical dilemma or to report suspected wrongdoing.
The methodology for the WME ranking includes reviewing codes of ethics,
litigation and regulatory infraction histories; evaluating the
investment in innovation and sustainable business practices; looking at
activities designed to improve corporate citizenship; studying
nominations from senior executives, industry peers, suppliers and
customers; and working with consumer action groups for feedback.
Additional information provided by the companies through questionnaires
is also analyzed.
