Pitney Bowes Names De Palma President of Management Services Unit

STAMFORD, Conn., June 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) has appointed Vincent De Palma president of Pitney Bowes Management Services (PBMS), effective June 20, 2005. De Palma joins the company from Automatic Data Processing (ADP).

In making the announcement, Murray Martin, Pitney Bowes president and chief operating officer stated: "Vince will lead the PBMS organization in delivering sustainable, leading edge solutions for its dynamic and competitive marketplace." Martin explained that De Palma's responsibilities will include directing the development and implementation of strategies that deliver high levels of customer satisfaction and retention, as well as identifying creative and profitable new services for PBMS. He also will work closely with the company's other business units to identify opportunities to "pull through" Pitney Bowes' current portfolio of products, services and solutions to PBMS customers.

PBMS provides mail services and document management solutions, including document creation, statement processing, electronic printing, scanning, storage and on-line retrieval to many of the Fortune 100 worldwide. Its Government Solutions group provides secure mail handling and document processing for various federal government facilities. In March 2005, the company announced its newly formed Legal Solutions group in conjunction with its acquisition of Compulit, a leading provider of litigation support services to law firms and corporate clients.

"Vince will continue to leverage the existing Management Services footprint in certain vertical industries to provide specialized services and grow our presence in these critical markets, such as the legal services market," Martin added.

De Palma was a corporate officer at ADP, where he served most recently as president of ADP Benefit Services. His previous role at ADP was senior vice president, marketing and new business development, where he identified new business opportunities, re-engineered ADP's marketing communications strategy to generate more sales leads, and developed marketing plans for mission-critical payroll and human resources products.

Prior to joining ADP, De Palma held management positions at Petroleum Heat & Power Company and McKinsey & Company.
