Pitney Bowes and MSA will offer a robust secure mail X-ray screening solution to both government agencies and private sector customers.

The new offering combines Pitney Bowes expertise in mail and package screening services with the remote X-ray screening system, SmartTech, developed by Michael Stapleton Associates. When a SmartTech equipped X-ray scanner captures a suspicious image, it is transmitted over a high-speed connection to the SmartTech Operations Center where a Certified Bomb Technician evaluates the suspect image in real time. The process enables onsite Pitney Bowes mail screeners to safely and non-intrusively evaluate suspect packages and helps to avoid unnecessary building evacuations. MSA will also provide X-ray equipment, explosive detection canine services and onsite security training support to Pitney Bowes.
