Company Recognized for Leadership in Helping Mailers Transition to Electronic & Digital Technology
Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) today received a special award from
the U.S. Postal Service in recognition of the company's success in
transitioning customers to advanced postage metering technologies. The
award was presented to Pitney Bowes Chairman & CEO Michael J. Critelli
by Pam Gibert, Vice President, U.S. Postal Service, Retail Operations
at a ceremony held at Pitney Bowes World Headquarters in Stamford.
In just over three years, Pitney Bowes has converted 98 percent
of its installed postage meter unit base to electronic or digital, as
compared to 49 percent at year-end 1995. The company is also leading
the way in providing the next generation of metering solutions, with
digital systems comprising 40 percent of its meter unit base.
