U.S. Navy Selects Pitney Bowes Solution for Inbound Mail Processing
STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 24, 2001--Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE:PBI) announced that the U.S. Navy has selected Pitney Bowes Incoming Messaging Solutions' flagship M3(TM) Mixed Mail Manager to automate its inbound mail processing. The M3(TM) System takes in mixed mail, reads the address, locates the recipient in the employee database and sorts the mail accordingly.
The M3(TM) System sorts mail many times faster than manual methods, and supports the widest range of mail, including postcards, letters, flats, interoffice, or package-like mailers. With the M3(TM) System, customers can reduce the amount of time it takes to process incoming mail, sort mail with greater accuracy, create an accurate source of recipient information and even automatically track and report mail operations information.
"Mail center operations in all industry segments can benefit from our incoming mail solution," said Charlene Malone, Vice President and General Manager of Pitney Bowes' Incoming Messaging Solutions. "The speed and mixed mail capability of the M3(TM) System means you can sort more mail in less time, resulting in increased performance at a significant cost savings."
Pitney Bowes combines cutting-edge technology with unequalled understanding of end-to-end mail processing to provide automation and processing solutions focused on the incoming mail stream. The M3(TM) System vastly improves the turnaround time and operational efficiency of the mail center and offers significant productivity gains resulting in reduced processing costs and errors.
