Pitney Bowes Reinvents Mail Processing for Small to Mid-Volume Mailers; Enables Businesses of All Sizes to Access Value-Based Services

Extends IntelliLink(TM) Platform With New DM100, DM200, DM300 and DM400 Model

                               Mailing Systems

STAMFORD, Conn., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pitney Bowes has introduced four new digital mailing systems -- the DM100(TM), DM200(TM), DM300(TM) and DM400(TM) mailing systems -- that bring its world-class IntelliLink(TM) technology to small and mid-volume mailers. These new systems deliver many of the same features and benefits, ranging from electronic confirmation services to remote rate and software downloads, that, until now, have only been available on more sophisticated systems designed for high-end processing centers. The new models complement the company's existing DM Series product line, which represents the industry's most comprehensive range of digital mailing solutions.

"Mail is critical to businesses of all sizes and these new DM models give the small to mid-sized mailer access to valuable services that can help them better communicate with existing and potential customers, while reducing costs," said Timothy M. Bates, Vice President, Customer Marketing, Pitney Bowes. "With the new DM solutions, customers can engineer their flow of communication to take full advantage of the DM product line's many cost and labor-saving features. The four new DM models incorporate the latest technology wrapped into complete mailing solutions that are efficient, reliable and easy-to-use."

For entry level businesses that process small mailings, but send multiple packages via express delivery, the DM100 delivers valuable options and money saving opportunities in a small, easy-to-use package. By utilizing the confirmation services available through the DM 100's IntelliLink(TM) connection, organizations can use the U.S. Postal Service delivery and shipping services to save significant costs over other carriers, while receiving similar tracking capabilities. In addition, businesses can access the Pitney Bowes Postage by PhoneR system to refill their meter, which reduces labor costs by eliminating trips to the post office. Another cost saving feature is the ability to apply the exact postage amount to each piece and avoid the potential over-postage of combining fixed value stamps. The DM 100 system offers dual functionality with its time and date stamp capabilities that can also post a time and date stamp on incoming mail.

The DM200, DM300 and DM400 models provide similar productivity-enhancing and cost-saving functions geared toward faster processing in order to meet the needs of businesses with increased mail and package volume. Other features include:

     * IntelliLink(TM) Technology -- the gateway to exclusive Pitney Bowes
       mail services
     * Digital Technology -- provides flexibility and security with quiet,
       crisp inkjet printing
     * Encrypted meter indicia, as well as the latest in Indicia Technology
     * User-Friendly Control -- easy to use keyboard with dedicated functions
and labeled keys for faster processing, including one-touch Postage by
       Phone(R) modem resetting
     * Ads and Inscriptions -- comes standard with 10 envelope advertisements
and 10 postal inscriptions in memory
     * Postage by Phone(R) Plus -- access to valuable payment options for
postage, supplies and carrier shipping expense
     * Innovative Sealing System -- enhances mail piece security

In addition, the DM300(TM) and DM400(TM) models have the Automatic Tape Dispenser for faster processing of larger packages, while the DM400(TM) model features an Automatic Feeder and flexible side guides that enable fast and efficient processing of various types of mail from postcards to 11" X 13" flats.
