Pitney Bowes Executive Vice President Matthew S. Kissner Honored by Special Olympics Connecticut for Volunteer Efforts

Kissner Receives The Susan Saint James Award for Leadership

STAMFORD, Conn., March 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Special Olympics Connecticut honored Matthew S. Kissner, Executive Vice President and Group President, Global Enterprise Solutions, Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI), with the Susan Saint James Award for Leadership at its recent annual dinner in Plantsville, Conn. This award recognizes individuals whose leadership skills have brought about positive change to Special Olympics. In addition, Kissner was inducted into the organization's Hall of Fame.

"Special Olympics is a tremendous experience for these persevering and committed athletes, and I am very proud to be a part of it," said Kissner. "I am particularly proud of the large number of Pitney Bowes employees who volunteer their time to this very worthwhile event and organization. These competitions mean so much to the participants and our community. As a partner sponsor of Special Olympics Connecticut, we hope to bring this joy and excitement to more people each year."

Kissner has led Pitney Bowes' volunteer effort with Special Olympics for more than six years.

"Pitney Bowes has been a great supporter for many years and during that time over 150 corporate volunteers have been involved with the bowling competition at the Holiday Sports Classic," said Beau Doherty, president, Special Olympics Connecticut. "We have been incredibly fortunate that one of the leaders of Pitney Bowes has been one of our strongest supporters. It is not always the case that a Senior Vice President, Vice President or even a President of a company is out in the trenches with their employees, mingling with our athletes. But in the case of Matt Kissner, Executive Vice President, we have always had the luxury of his involvement. We tend to think there is some correlation between title sponsorship of the Holiday Sports Classic and our most recent Partner Level sponsorship upgrade from Pitney Bowes, due to not only their employees love of what they do for our athletes, but certainly due to Matt Kissner's leadership. It is our great pleasure to induct Matt Kissner into the Hall of Fame with the Susan Saint James Award."

Pitney Bowes is also a strong supporter of literacy in the community and has launched its 'Powering Literacy' initiative, which couples employee involvement with company resources to address the educational needs of our communities worldwide. The company also sponsors the Know How to Know How program, an eight-hour workshop that teaches study and life skills to middle school students and their parents, for its employees in several communities around Connecticut.
