Pitney Bowes to Acquire Compulit

STAMFORD, Conn., March 4, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Pitney Bowes Management Services (PBMS), a subsidiary of Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI), today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Compulit, Inc., a leading provider of litigation support services to law firms and corporate clients. This business will be part of the newly created Pitney Bowes Legal Solutions operation, which is led by Arlen Henock.

Pitney Bowes Legal Solutions was formed at the beginning of the year to create high value, integrated solutions for law firms and corporate and government legal departments. The new business provides technology and services that help clients optimize the management, production and access to critical information in digital and physical formats. Its comprehensive portfolio of services includes on-site and off-site imaging and digital conversion, records management, word processing, coding, web repository, mail, reprographic and fax management. The team of industry specialists is headed by Arlen Henock, who is admitted to the bar in both New York and Connecticut.

Compulit currently provides a significant percentage of the top 100 U.S. law firms and multiple Fortune 100 companies with a range of litigation support solutions in critical areas such as document coding, electronic discovery, imaging, and document repository. It is headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan and has sales offices in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York and Washington D.C. Compulit has approximately 230 full-time, part-time and temporary employees.

While no financial details were disclosed, the transaction is not expected to materially impact the company's results this year.
