Pitney Bowes Displays Industry Leadership at 2005 National Postal Forum
Mail and Document Solutions Available for Mailers of All Sizes
STAMFORD, Conn., March 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI), the world's leading provider of integrated mail and document management solutions, will showcase a comprehensive array of solutions for mailers of all sizes at the National Postal Forum, March 20-March 23 at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center, Nashville. Pitney Bowes executives will also participate in several workshops to educate and share best practices with the anticipated audience of 4,000-5,000 attendees.

Pitney Bowes Chairman and CEO Michael J. Critelli will give an assessment of the state of the mailing industry at the Mailing Industry Task Force symposium on Monday, March 21st from 10:45-12:00 pm along with the USPS Deputy Postmaster General John Nolan and members of the Task Force. Attendees will learn how the Task Force is planning to make mail a more useful and cost-effective business communication tool.
On display at booth #716 will be new hardware, software and service offerings that allow mailers to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of their mailings. For high-volume production mailers, Pitney Bowes will showcase a set of Automated Document Factory (ADF) solutions that enable production mailers to track mail through the U.S. postal delivery network. In addition, attendees will see how DFWorks(R) intelligent document factory management solutions help mailers simplify mail operations planning and management, while pinpointing opportunities to fine tune workflow for increased productivity. The Company will also showcase its industry-leading high-speed APS(TM) Series inserter and unveil an innovative folding technology specifically designed for the telecommunications industry. For high-volume mailers seeking full compliance with the USPS digital meter mandate, demonstrations of the new DM Infinity(TM) Series Digital Mailing System will be available. The DM Infinity(TM) Series is the only digital meter family in the world to meter up to 22,000 mail pieces per hour and to meet the demanding reliability and durability requirements of production mailers.
Sorting solutions on display will include the Olympus(TM) II MT Sorter, processing letters at 36,000 pieces per hour with its integrated ClearScan(TM) technology to minimize risk of costly MERLIN failures. Exemplar OCR technology will also be featured in addition to a video showcase of the new flats processing sorter, which can sort items as thick as a phone book with superior read rates.
Pitney Bowes Executive Mail Management digital mail service turns paper mail into digital content to create a secure, traceable, easy-to-access communication method for highly mobile top-level executives. Mid-size mailers will also get an opportunity to see the recently introduced DI600 FastPac(TM) Inserting System, a solution that processes mail pieces ranging from direct mail to advanced invoicing and information mailings at speeds up to 4,000 mail pieces per hour. In addition, Pitney Bowes will offer addressing solutions, mailing systems and package management solutions.
